put this into the somewhat rant category.... but it's how I see this.

In
 the last couple years one of the give-up things was politics. Pretty 
much Apolitical. The republican stalemate against President Obama was 
just a dreary tiring slow death watching our country pass into 2nd 
world/ nation status, approaching 3rd world status in some poverty 
areas. We're still a superpower militarily wise, but in statistics the 
USA is waaaaaaay back in too many areas. ... ie... low childbirth rate, 
slow internet speeds, poverty rate, highest health care costs, ect... 

The
 USA could have accomplished many good and some great things all to 
benefit our citizens, but noooooooo. The republican leadership was so 
mad after loosing to him their "goal was to make him a one term 
President". Party 1st, country last; Thank you republicans! Very little 
legislation from Congress in 8 years. Voting down Obamacare some 40+ 
times. Guys,... Obamacare was a republican idea/ program, modeled after 
Mitts Massachusetts state health care plan. ... And you are against it 
... ?because the black President won the election and you don't like 
it?

Talk
 about pouting when you don't get your way. That's your choice to run 
the republican party that way, but it's a really ineffective way to run a
 country. The obstructionist party. ?Hows that working out for you as Dr
 phil would say?

The
 republicans are so screwed up that I began watching politics again for 
the last couple years. I couldn't believe the republicans are that 
stupid but they are. The republicans are more stupid than stupid could 
be. I couldn't help but watch. THIS IS Entertainment. I can't buy a 
ticket to see something this stupid.     

I
 watched the last 35 years starting with Reagan in 1980 of the most 
assassin dumb ass clowns and their minions, their henchmen,... believe 
me you don't spout the republican party line; you are out. 

Ridiculous
 policies like "trickle down economics". At speaking forums Reagan had 
an index card that said "Thank you all for coming". Bush 1/ Sr was 
amazed at a supermarket grocery scanner. Reagan didn't know how to order
 a McDonalds hamburger; talk about being removed from reality these guys
 were the original Dumb and Dumber. The national debt quadrupled under 
Reagan, from 2 to 8 trillion dollars. Bush Sr even said Reaganomics  was
 "voodoo economics" and he quickly swallowed the republican [communist] 
party position and stayed on the team. 

"Trickle down economics" was not the beginning of dismantling the USA, but it was full throttle from then on.   

and
 take all the other republican party policies like repealing the 
Glass-Stegall act, overreacting by forming the TSA, cutting food stamps 
to families with children (a LOT of enlisted servicemens families with 
children draw food stamps), voting no against almost every Veterans 
legislation,    ---- and see how they've punished the country. 

Then
 Junior, Bush 2,... asleep at the wheel for the 9-11 twin towers attack 
takes down the tailaban in a couple months -- GOOD! that was where the 
gang that attacked us was -- then,... with no thought out plan because 
he was such a wimp like Dad and wanted to prove his manhood bravado, 
lies us into a war on WMD, invades the wrong country, gets some 7,000 US
 Veterans killed, another 50,000+ wounded, destabilizes the whole Middle
 East into collapse and chaos,... in essence starting a holy war with 
Islam that may last a century, didn't even know the difference between 
Shia and Sunni, has cost the USA - to date- some 5 trillion dollars and 
what do we have to show for it; absolutely nothing, except a collapsed 
economy. ... and created ISIS. There was NO ISIS until the Bush junior 
aftermath. 

To
 follow that the republicans run McCain, I like McCain, could have voted
 for him, but, the republicans didn't have enough stupid so they put 
Palin - maybe the dumbest woman I've ever heard - as VP. No leadership 
in the republican party stepped in and put their foot down; NO! We don't
 let fringe, uneducated, no nothings  represent us and have the 
microphone on the stage. They let it ride. 

That
 just encouraged Mitt, silver spoon Mitt, phony ass Mitt, car elevator 
in the garage Mitt and lightweight Ryan to continue the republican 
stupidity all the while blocking any progress proposed for the country. 
Talk about playing the fiddle while Rome/ the USA burns.  

Chickenhawks
 = republican conservatives that talk real tough about strong military/ 
defense, war, attacking/ bombing and have never served in the military, 
and in fact... other than McCain... all republican conservatives dodged 
the draft to evade military service. They have never stood a post, but 
they'll send your children to unnecessary war in a heartbeat, to "send a
 message"; Hey, republicans, don't use our kids for your bravado. 

Jump
 ahead a couple years and the republicans put up 16 of their best and 
brightest (and it was a sad lot with the likes of con men frauds like 
Walker and Perry and JEB! who distanced his own family name -- 100 
million $$ for 6 votes) for the 2016 nomination and they went right past
 go, right to super stupid. The republican chairmen allowed 16 of the 
party leaders to form a circular firing squad for some 12 debates. 
?Who's idea was that?

It
 was wonderful to watch these 16 has been and also-rans to trash each 
other; it was entertainment. I couldn't buy entertainment this good. I 
popped popcorn.  

And
 in the 16 wannabees that couldn't collectively run a McDonalds, the 
extra one, not a politician, not even sure he's a republican, ... The 
Donald, Trump! literally tears all 16 to shreds (of course disarming 
these intellectual lightweights was not that difficult of a task) with 
ease. 

Trump
 dismantled each and every one of these bush league for the two bit 
hustler con men hypocrite slimeballs they were; I'm not fascinated that 
Trump did it, I'm fascinated that that it didn't require any hard work 
and was fairly easy to point out how stupid each was.   

So
 the republicans now have a presidential nominee that is not really a 
republican. Trump is not even a politician. He's a businessman. Trump 
looses the election, he goes right back to making billions the next day -
 at a higher per diem rate now!

?Could
 Trump win? Bush jr didn't win and he was President for 8 long, lost, 
wandering years with no guilty concisense. The only thin junior did 
right in 8 years was clear some brush.

But it's so much fun to watch the decline of the republican party. 

The
 only thing better would have to put all 17 in a cage, all wearing 
Ronald Reagan masks, and let them fight it out. We just witnessed the 
verbal version of this. 

And
 the final word on this... I've heard this republican think tank mantra/
 creed that they "want to shrink the government down to where they can 
drown it in a bathtub". ?Is that the most stupid thought ever? 

I
 like government. You know... I like clean water. I like the FAA guys up
 in the tower when my plane is landing. I like streets without potholes.
 I like the National Parks, AND the Federal forest service parks, and 
State Parks... 

When
 you cut a country back to where there is no functional government... 
?Do you know what that country looks like? ; that country is Somalia!

these
 republican thinkers don't have a clue as to how to run a country. If 
they are beaten in this election... I say good riddance. 

We'll
 see what happens in the elections. The media has it like bookies down 
to a 49% to 49% toss up. It could be a jump ball unless someone messes 
up or an October surprise.

 thought... ?what if Trump does win? The White House attorneys will tell
 him what he can and can't do, but mostly bully pulpit which he's good 
at. 1st time he orders the Generals to do an illegal act and they 
refuse... he'll fire them. Then... possible the Generals relieve him of 
command= a coup... & we;ll see. Possible, not probable.

Update: Well... the voters spoke... and we have a new President elect. I'll follow the Dave Chappell request... Let's give the man a chance... before we make any judgments. We'll see.  The republicans didn't give President Obama a chance; not one day. First day they declared to make him a 1 term President; nice chance guys.

But a lifetime of experience has witnessed when inept amatures have control of the wheel of government. Bush junior and team were asleep at the wheel and then tried bravado of going into Iraq to cover up how inept his team was. "We'll be greeted as liberators". Yeah... didn't quite pan out like you thought. Those bad decisions led to the most terrible foreign policy disaster in American history. 3 trillion dollars and what do we have to show for it? ISIS; Thank you Bush/ Cheney. 

I don't know if the Trump bunch can top the Iraq disaster but eliminate medicare and cut social security and destroy a generation of people and we'll see how you fare.

The government is NOT a business; it's about people. ... "We the people" , not the shareholders meeting.

These are interesting times. The republican party is in chaos. A man that's not really a republican won the republican primary, and I don't think he's going to forgive all those that didn't back him. 

the democrats are just as lost. ... more than ever. 

The end of "our" era is here. This will be what we make it. Get some popcorn; this is going to be interesting!

more update; about 2 weeks now 'til we see this trainwreck start. And it is forming up as a trainwrick. Cabinet people that want to shut down their depts. energy, EPA,,, ect. Cut Medicare and Social Security are priorities; Greece tried this "Austerity" budget last year; pensions cut 40% overnight; riots.

Last year said I was going to vote for who would fuck up this country the fastest. You know, take it down and clean out to hit bottom; just like the business guys... then rebuild and get it on a start over. I thin we've got our boy!

Don't know when... but there will be a major screw up.... the spotlight will be on the chair/ hotseat to explain.... look for the steel balls/ ball bearings to come out and start rolling them in his hand. get some popcorn,

Don't watch
 TV much anymore. a few major tragedy's this year, ... shootings, and 
you watch the news reports sad with heart hurting for all the carnage 
and aftermath. 

One
 observation I'd like to speak to... and I mean this sincerely. The 
police chiefs, when they are speaking at a post press conference or 
crime scene.... more than a few, most have 4 star Generals stars on 
their collar. 

Gentlemen,
 I mean this with all due respect. I know all of you are professional, 
the top of your class and peers, top shelf policemen to be in that 
position; but you are not Generals. I know we want some type of chain of
 command. As chief, please cap it at Colonel, Commander ect...

Generals
 are General Patton, General Pershing, General Grant, General Lee, 
General Schwartzcopf, General Zinni, General Jones, General Powell. 

For
 a city police chief to wear General stars, and 4 stars at that,... you 
look like Colonel Qaddafi, or Idi Amin; strongman dictators that 
promoted themselves to Colonel/ General. They are clowns. You are not 
clowns. You are professional policemen and have earned your position; 
Lose the General stars. Thank you. 

Enough said.
