YOHO National Park Field, British Columbia
We're driving hard. RT= Road Trip. Closing in on destination Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.
Started the day in Revelstoke with blue skies.
Late afternoon. It's been a grey, overcast, cold, drizzle for the last 2 hours.
Coming into the Canadian Rockies... steep mountains. Visibility is limited... only a mile or so.
Drive past a lake on the left... come to a motel resort...
A few miles up we enter into YOHO National Park. Looks like a lake but is the wide Kicking Horse River.
on across the bridge is the town of Field, BC. Pop 169
Stop at the visitors center.
Out in the parking lot take a moment and view.... steep Canadian Rockies mountains. Steep. it;s like we;re in a bowl here in the valley. Powerful view to do a 360 sweep here.
Cold,... chill... snow flurries, sleet. Wind 20+mph. ?Did I mention this is August? ... and there's snowflakes!
?Is this a Road Trip or what? It just gets better.
ALCAN Hwy 1 east to Lake Louise... 20 more miles.
