It takes a special kind of cat to travel with Uncle Hargus. Over the journey of a lifetime here are a few of the Hargettes. Pix coming in time

The Hargettes:

Dr. Lillith S. Baker-Ross-Sutton-Patterson, 2ndAVP-Copier Toner, MBA: The 1st love that I thought was a keeper. I thought this was the one I thought I wanted to keep for all time. ... until the extracurricular activity was a bit too much. My attitude was best explained by BB King; "I'm getting some outside help at home that I really don't need".  Honking The Banks clients gave real meaning to "Customer Service".

"The Bank" did her in; eventually was her demise even though she clawed her way to the top and was named 2nd assistant Vice President in charge of copier toner in only 10 years. "The Bank" took a once promising attractive woman and transplanted her personality, wit, charm, enthusiasm into the spirit of a Standard Chartered Accountant and all the antics that come with that mentality. ... ie... grinning and chuckling while repossessing the Nuns meals on wheels van. Also got tired of having to drag her kicking and screaming to the fun.

Dr. Baker-Ross-Mezick-Sutton-Patterson was not actually a real Doctor. That would have limited her academic matriculation. Woman was a serious threat to take a class and make an "A". You need a report on Neopod Agronomy Capacity Generation.... It will be on your desk this afternoon. The fact that Dr. Baker-Ross-Pitts-Sutton knows absolutely nothing about Neopod Agronomy Capacity Generators is incidental. Her shoulder pads in her business suit will convince you her data is accurate, and conclusive within 1/2 of one standard deviation. Eventually in a 2 piece bathing suit she even looked like an Standard Chartered Accountant.

Getting up from the table and walking out the door was one of the best things I did in life. It was tempting to do the go out for a loaf of bread and never return,

Life rule#4: Sometimes you have to gnaw off an arm to get out of one of lifes traps.

Life rule#4A: When you go sailing, leave the anchor at home.

In the 1st year married - 1978 - I came home one day and said "we've got some money saved up, we need to buy this new stock going public called "Home Depot".

"Oh no, we're going to buy curtains. The curtains will make the house more valuable." Those curtains wound up costing over $1,200. and that was only 3 rooms. I don't see how they could have cost that much. maybe I didn't know how to "shop for a bargain". Home Depot went public at $12/ share. Over the years of growth and adjusted for splits HD topped out at some $290,000. ... from $1,200 to $290k,... a 290 to 1 bagger; a pretty good call.

Years later when Dr. Baker-Ross-Sutton-Patterson & I split up; I wondered about something.

?Susan, What do you suppose those curtains are worth now?

You never drink twice from the same stream.
