BNF 5 Revelstoke, BC to Golden, BC

Golden, British Columbia

heading onto hwy 1 to our destination Lake Louise, Alberta... Banff area

Driving hard... many beautiful sights of Canadian Rockies wilderness.

We come to Golden, BC. ... a wonderful place.

Stop at local grocery store for a few things. Ask a lady if there is a local park w/ picnic tables. She points us to the Golden park 3-4 blocks away.

A unique plaza with stone work of flower beds, terraced beds, stairs up to a fantastic covered bridge over the Kicking Horse River. This is the longest freestanding pedestrian covered bridge in Canada, 150' ... and is a magnificent built wooden structure!  It is beautiful!

Ate a picnic samich here. ... and a walking/ biking trail along the Kicking Horse River. A good place to gather your thoughts in peace. The rushing water sounds good!

This Kicking Horse pedestrian bridge is the longest freestanding timber bridge in Canada. It is a beautiful structure of excellent craftsmanship.

Some of the locals transit this bridge.

A half mile down river is the confluence with the Columbia River.

Go into the downtown main square... several local bakery and chocolate shops. A unique structure in the main triangle.

Local hotel on the downtown square.

A stop at the post office to get my travel journal stamped.

Last stop for fuel and head out on Trans-Canada Hwy 1 east to Lake Louise.
