WY hwy 28 en route to Lander, Wyoming Red Canyon
Driving up Wy hwy 28, crossing the Continental divide 7,550' elev & in a few miles you come to Red Canyon. When you see this you know there is some significance to the geological change of the land. You just have to stop and get out to view the beauty of this sight... if you hadn't seen the continental divide sign back down the road... ... you just know something important changed here.
This journey is really getting interesting now heading up into the Rockies. That's the southern end of the Wind River mountain range w/ the snowcaps to the west. Wyoming is a fantastic place to see major geological changes... sometimes in 20 miles distance. or less.
it's overcast stormy today. passed a wind sock on the highway. The winds here are fierce 30+ w/ gusts.
