Fishing Haines Alaska salmon.
After a month of combat fishing in Alaska, of crowded river banks of salmon fishermen we wanted to fish in some peace and quiet.
On Hwy 7 in between the town of Haines and Chilkoot State Park where we camped, we scouted out a couple of places on the bay, Lynn Canal,... the Gulf of ALaska, the Pacific, to come back and fish.
This was a rock Beach covered in slippery seaweed from the tides.
This was direct bay saltwater fishing, salmon fishing before they get to their stream.
The rocks are slippery as owl grease so you're sure footed and careful.
Just the sight of the bay alone is stunning beauty much less getting to salmon fish here is wonderful.
Only one other fisherman is nearby.
This is much better then the combat fishing crowds.
T-Bird lands a couple of salmon and no time.
A couple of 10 pounders.
T-Bird has a good day salmon fishing.
Haines Alaska was one of my favorite places in Alaska. Amid all the Klondike history this is a unique place.
You never drink twice from the same stream.
Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost.
