Haines Alaska 4 bears

Camping at Chilkoot Lake State Park we were a hundred yards from where the lake drains going to the Gulf of Alaska, via the Lynn canal.

After salmon fishing up in the lake we took a break and went down to see the Bears fish.

A half mile down the river was a good place to watch Bears, grizzly bears fish in the river.

This is a mama grizzly that had two Cubs.

The fence looking thing in, across the river is what's called a weir.  The Rangers do salmon sampling of the fish in the weir to count, sample, they determine the harvest numbers and the spawning run season fishing dates.

There were maybe a dozen bears on the river over a couple of days.

This is about 100 yards from the Bears.

There were Rangers close by, and armed if Bears approached people or fisherman.

This is really a unique sight to see this. Beyond just being pretty and scenic it is pretty interesting to see these bears.

From 100 yards with the binoculars these bears are really something to see. Don't mess with a bear.

Some of these Bears may be relatives.

Don't feed the Bears, it really does and danger them as they will go to populated areas to feed and be in danger of being put down by Rangers when they attack people.

You never drink twice from the same stream.

Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost.
