Siena Cathedral

Siena Italy

Next day trip we headed east about 60 miles to Sienna, Italy,  another Italian medieval World City.
another UNESCO world heritage site. You could tell that this was a popular tourist destination from
the traffic and all the tour buses parked in the parking lots. Parked on the street and probably not
a legal parking space near one of the entrances to the city. Started walking up the hill to the town.

Narrow cobblestone streets cramped with pedestrian tourists walking .  Every block has fascinating
architectural buildings all of stone and Marble work. Local cathedrals, chapels marble statues,
arches, ornate ceilings,... just beautiful Italy still preserved with it ancient flavor that's overwhelming
to see.

And you come to Sienna Square the famous Square , The Piazza del Campo, where they have the
neighborhood Parade every year that is a world-renowned event to see. The Beautiful fountain and
across the square is the Tower Mangia.   We walked on further to the Siena Cathedral.

The outside is ornate baroque. This is gonna be good!

Inside the cathedral is humbling to see/ experience. You stand in awe.

The marble floors and craftsmanship,... the patterns in marble floors all have a story of history of
events such as Crusades,  battles, Pope's, papal edicts, Statues, pulpits, Confession booths,
paintings,... it is all just beyond description, it is magnificent to see, Again this is Italy, A cathedral
hall is something you could spend a day in easy and not see or learn everything there,  it is a
very powerful placed to stand in, and stand in awe.

You walk out of that Cathedral Blown Away From The Experience . Walking back through the main Piazza Square started to rain so we ducked into Streetside restaurant and had a bite to eat.  Rain blew over in 20 minutes and we headed out,

You never drink twice from the same stream.

Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost.
