Dublin, Ireland .... The heart of Ireland

Last day in Ireland and we're in Dublin... the heart and pulse of Ireland.

Caught the #16 bus to downtown Dublin. Mass transit works.... every 15 minutes a bus for 3 Euros, a bargain.

Downtown Dublin

The Dublin spire... the center of Ireland.

Hop on- Hop off bus... a great way to see all of Dublin.

St Patricks Cathedral

St Kevins Cathedral

St Patricks Cathedral

Guinness brewery. The best beer in the world!

Dublin jail/ prison where inmates literally sledge hammered big rocks into gravel. There were prisoners here that had stole a loaf of bread and were exiled/ shipped to Australia.

A couple of bridges in downtown Dublin across the Liffey River.

The Custom House.

Croke Park aand the history of Bloody Sunday. See Croke Park post croke-park-dublin here

Eire= Ireland journey

Sunday April 21, 2019  Easter Sunday

Crossed over the iconic bridge at Mizen Head... Mizen Head lighthouse.

Mizen Head... Mizen Head lighthouse... on this peninsula is the Southernmost point of Ireland.

Fastenall is a lighthouse on an island. Mizen Head is still on mainland terrafirma.

So, this southernmost point of Ireland has been navigated by mariners.... The Vikings, Norsemen, The Goths, and god knows whoever sailed a ship/ boat around south Ireland weather to rob and plunder, capture for prize, or trade.

This is exciting to see this.

There are hardly any tourists here... which is good!

Marconi radio room.
Historically, this Mizen Head lighthouse radio station was a vital, integral communication point to monitor the sea lane traffic between  Ireland and Iceland during WWII.  The wind 20 to 40+, cold damp coming off to the North Atlantic ocean, Viz 1/4 mile at best... You almost sense the Nazi submarine wolfpack waiting in lay out off of this point.

After a lifetime of journey,.... I made it here!!!

This is one of the best days on this life journey. Thank you lord. I did not waste this day!
