Steveston, British Columbia 1
Last night in Vancouver. BC before the 6am redeye flight out. Asked the desk clerk for a good local seafood place.... Steveston!
It was a great place to eat!
headed west from the Holiday Inn Express for 6 blocks and see some local bars, open air cafes.
Parked on the street, walked 1 block south and was on the waterfront street.
BC ferries dock right there. Right there on the waterfront are several neat looking restaurants and a few gift shops. It's a good atmosphere.

A lively energy here. The Marina docks are right here. Local fishermen are here. There's some touristy flavor to this but it's an interesting place.
This was a big salmon cannery port from around the 1870's with a large Japanese population working the fisherman fleet/boats. The west end of the docks looks like a cannery row.
Steveston sits about 5 miles north of the US/Canadian border. The opening to the sea is actually the strait of Georgia, the strait between British Columbia and Vancouver Island some 25 miles due west.
This river inlet, Steveston sits on the north bank is the estuary of The Fraser River. That's right ... the mighty Fraser that we've cris crossed on this RT- Road Trip up to see Banff and Lake Louise.
The Fraser River IS a mighty River. ... and Fraser valley is loaded with historic towns with a lot of unique history of British Columbia. Click back through this RT to see the many places that we visited and saw... The Fraser River & valley were a big part.
It's fitting on the last eve in BC to eat seafood overlooking the Fraser meeting the sea. As always, ... none of this was planned so that makes it even more special to see and experience.
You never drink twice from the same stream!
