Steveston, BC 2 Blue Canoe

Last night in Vancouver before flying out at dark;30... 6am from YVR back home to Alabama.

Headed to Steveston, British Columbia for a good Canadian coast seafood dinner. Steveston was THE best choice among the many options.

Walked the strip through Steveston to check things out. A lot of good enery & marina atmosphere. It's and old cannery row town with a LOT of history here.

There are a couple large restaurants with 2nd story and balcony's overlooking the bay/ river/ marina.  They are local businesses and not chains; good.

Past the BC state ferry dock... this is the ferry over to Victoria... Vancouver Island.

Down past a few restaurants and shops... about a block... and tuck into a local place "The Blue Canoe".

Wooden boardwalks and you almost have to search this place out. The outside -- al fresco -- dining tables are to the right while entering into the under roof restaurant .  Take a table inside and the most wonderful waitress gets us started with water and menus / .

Big glass windows show a view of the marina below. good atmosphere. T-bird gets a glass of red wine. It's a sea seafarers theme restaurant on the docks. The wood walls have nautical artifacts displayed and hanging for effect.

I can't wait any longer.... I have to walk out on the open air outside tables and start taking pix.

Sun setting in the west... getting low... an orange ball... and your looking through all the masts, aerials, raised outrigger pylons of the fishing boats at dock in the marina. ... A spectacular view. cant take pix fast enough.

Back inside and our waitress is right there for us to order.  Menu is very reasonable. You can get North sea crab legs.... salmon fillets for $$22+ ... very reasonable priced.

Maybe it's after 2 weeks of fast RT that I want just some basic seafood... I get the standby favorite fish and chips for like $$12. ... can't go wrong w/ this.

Waiting again after 5 mins I have to go outside and take more pix. This is a very unique view of the Pacific Northwest at Vancouver... the gateway to the East/ orient.

Back in and a few mins here comes plates of seafood that's like... this is way more than I expected. Huge plates of seafood. It's like... I can't eat all of this.

The chefs have this down good. I mean good!  Beyond good... Like... really good!!!   Like... 5 star good!

The cocktail and tartar sauce is even better! The chefs really had a good spice balance... I mean really good!

Basic fish and chips dinner and it's for a king!!!  basic seafood prepared well and served really simple but it was a great meal.

Back outside to take pix. What a view!

When you get to Vancouver, BC... and you want a really good Northwest Pacific seafood dinner, go down to Steveston. Most of the restaurants will be good; The Blue Canoe is excellent. And I don't do commercials... but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

And take your camera.
