MV Lulu Belle Columbia Glacier 2, Ingress.

Approaching the Columbia glacier at 30 miles awayis a phenomenal sight.

It gets better every mile closer.

T-bird on the bow.
Stayed up on the bow on this trip. Getting down into the cold glacier icefield the temperature is around 36 degrees, wind at 15 to 20 knots, and the ship is going 30 knots.

The cold chill up on the bow is worth the site.  Clear blue green aqua water, wind 20 knots+, and you feel the real chill of the glacier.

We are still 15 miles away from the glacier. I can't take pictures fast enough. This is a phenomenal day.

The pictures here are of a smaller glacier enroute. This is not Columbia.

We still have to sail about 10 more miles inbound and turn East into the Columbia Glacier icefield. WE have not even seen the glacier, the Columbia Glacier yet.

What a fantastic day. clear skies, Sun, Prince William sound.

There were others back inside in the warm of the ship. Up on the bow with binoculars was the only place I wanted to be.

I'm getting wind burned now, this is the time to stay up front on the edge of this.

also see the next blog post going into the icefield, Columbia Glacier icefield.

You never drink twice from the same stream.

Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost.
