Columbia glacier egress LuLu 5. Head for the Barn
On the MV Lulu Belle, we come out of the Columbia Glacier, egress, and head for the barn, back to the Valdez Marina.
Captain Fred puts the hammer down on the Lulu Belle and we steam at 30+ knots.
It was a good day for this old Marine to put to sea again.
On the way back we see dolphins, they are black and white like orca whales.
We did not see whales. We did see these black and white orca colored dolphins skipping in front of the bow.
Heading back in we got up close to some commercial salmon fishing boats netting and bringing in a catch of salmon.
These guys are the real Alaska Fishermen, netting salmon that will be processed on Cannery Row at Valdez.
It's been a long day. Coming back into Valdez Harbor, Valdez Marina, we pass by the Alaska pipeline oil terminal at Valdez.
I give a complementary bird, and a proxy boo to Exxon for everyone.
Back into port, back from the sea.
This day will go into the top 10 best days of this odyssey between the eternities.
This was a good day. thank you Lord. I did not waste this time of life today.
You never drink twice from the same stream.
Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost.
