CdS 20  Muxia...   see Finnesterre also

to Muxia... To the end of the world... 2nd destination on the Iberian Atlantic coast

After Finnesterre, Aldo, the guide on the bus said now take a nap for 45 minutes while we go north to Muxia. ... and most did. Good advice.

Arriving at Muxia we could see the church maybe 500 feet from the ocean.

Up the hill on the left was a huge artist' monument of stone.

A lighthouse to the right.

And this was The End of The World... at Muxia.

The rocks on this Iberian peninsula, also known as "The Death Coast" was because the sea, and winds, and currents of the Atlantic ocean had driven so many ship and vessels onto the rocks over time.... it was the coast of death.

Migrating through Europe heading West you come to the Atlantic Ocean... Medieval thinking was that the world was flat... thus , this was literally The End of the World.

The Atlantic ocean was fierce and turbulent, waves slamming up onto smooth eroded rocks the size of a bus.

White foam from the wave splashes were beautiful in the aqua blue ocean. This was the end of the world 2,000 years ago.

Wind was 25+, gusts to 40.

On this odyssey, on the journey during a lifetime... backpacking across northern Spain on The Camino de Santiago... The Way of ST James... The route Apostle James took after Jesus was crucified ... and the Apostles set out on their journey... a few reflections on The Camino experience.

Down on the peninsula.  Threw out rocks from back home...a moment to cast away rocks of past life from home... a symbol to leave behind the burdens and mistakes of the past life... and say a prayer to ask for  the mercy and grace of a lifetime of mistakes and sins. Muxia was a powerful place... to have journeyed through this life... to have searched for the answers ...to ask for the account of a life... to ask for mercy,... and grace... it was here.

and coins... symbolic coins to give away my wealth... I find pennies and put them on the railroad tracks,,, for the trains to flatten them out into copper coins... to squeeze the greed out of money and wealth... and I throw these to the world to give away the symbol of my monetary wealth. Back in the normal world I do some volunteer work and do try to help those less fortunate; the coins are symbols... a down payment of my promise to help the less fortunate.

Muxia... like Finessterre was the end point of this journey. A final symbol of the journey of a lifetime... Thank you Lord for all the blessings! I did not waste this time of life... Thank you for the blessing of being here today.

James is described as one of the first disciples to join Jesus. This was the same path James walked on his pilgrimage to Santiago and is known as the patron Saint of Spain, his remains are held in Santiago de Compostela in Galacia. This journey became an important rite of passage for all true believers.

Oh God,.. Lord.. I do love this journey so. Thank you for the journey to experience all these abundant blessings.

You never drink twice from the same stream.

Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost.
