Wanted to see Crater lake for a long time. Got close to it several years back on a west coast road trip w/ best friend Ken & The CAN ... AKA Cody. Promised each other we'd come back and climb Mt Shasta, but we went on north up to Vancouver and Whistler. Would have to wait for another trip.

I knew Crater Lake was beautiful. ... It was worth the wait. Thought about it a couple months now and still can't put into words what a spectacle it was. To walk up onto the rim at North Junction and see it for the 1st time ... It's paralyzing. Sublime. Sureal. I still can't describe the Blue. BLUE ! beyond BLUE !!! It's way beyond blue.

Phantom Ship, Wow!

It was such a powerful sight I had to hike 2,000' down to the lake and get in it. And drink a handful of it.

The pics don't begin to do justice to describe it.

The Lake itself is 6,000' Elev. The rim is 8,000'. Snowpack around rim and some at base of lake shore. I'm just glad I got to see it.
